Read La Bamba-The students just started a new story Have them do the following activities at home.
Thursday- Using Humor in writing
Gary Soto is well known for including humor in his stories. As you read, note passages that are funny. For example, in the second paragraph on page 166, the author gives a funny description of Manuel as he shows Benny what he plans to do in the talent show. Think about what makes the passages funny. Find one passage and write it down then write a short paragraph about what makes it funny. Be prepared to share on Friday!

Tuesday-No School Election day
Wednesday-We will be exploring angle measures to find degrees of angles and circle.
Thursday-we will learn how to use a protractor to measure angles
Friday-We will learn how to use a compass to draw a circle and copy a line segment; and to measure and investigate angles formed by intersecting lines

This week we will continue sharing our science projects. Many students did a great job creating their models of the Solar system. I seen many great examples and many creative ways of creating the solar system. Keep up the great work!!
