VWOD 1 keyboarding, AUP, dock

Please type these VWOD’s (Vocabulary Word of the Day) and the definitions in your bellwork journal.

  •  keyboarding: Typing on a computer keyboard using proper posture and finger position to improve speed and accuracy.
  •  AUP (Acceptable Use Policy): school district or workplace rules for using information networks and Internet access.
  •  dock: A row of graphic images at the bottom of your Mac computer screen. Click on one of them to launch application programs or files.

  1. Who must follow the Acceptable Use Policies for using the Internet in Dearborn Schools?
  2. What are you agreeing to do when you log in to the Dearborn Schools network?

1-3 Read the Acceptable Use Policy and answer these questions :
1. What does DPS stand for?
2. According to the first paragraph, can the administration of the Dearborn Public Schools go into your saved files at school and check for anything inappropriate?
3. What does it mean if you log on to the network?
4. If you do not want to follow this policy what should you do?

Syllabus

Please log into the lab network and locate the syllabus in the class web page. Read and answer these questions in your bellwork journal in iLearn.
1. Who needs to sign the paper copy of the syllabus?
2. Who takes responsibility for your behavior in this class?
3. List 4 possible consequences for disruptive behavior in class.
4. What items should you NOT bring into the computer lab?
