Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team for defeating River Rouge 13-1 on Monday. The team is now 10-8. Sophomore Mariam Abdallah had a home run and 2 RBI and junior Renee Garcia a double and 3 RBI to lead the offense. Next home game is Friday, May 2nd against Romulus.

Congratulations to the girls varsity tennis team for defeating Edsel Ford yesterday 5-3. The team was led by the play of #3 singles player Lara Achmar and the #1 doubles team Luma Beydoun and Dana Achmar

Congratulations to the boys track team for placing first at Crestwood’s Chargers Invite competing against over 10 schools.
Attention ALL US FIRST MEMBERS: If you are interested in attending the TEAM FORD FIRST Banquet, you must see me immediately in D-!03. The final list must be turned in TODAY!!! The Dearborn American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held on the grounds of the Performing Arts Center at Michigan and Greenfield on Saturday, May 3 at 10:00am until Sunday, May 4 at 10:00 am. During this time we honor the memory of those individuals from our families and community who have been affected by this horrific disease and raise awareness and funds to end it. Please plan to come out and support the Fordson Relay for Life Teams and help fight cancer. RMS

IMPORTANT AP EXAM STUDENT REMINDERS
All AP exam students should fill out answer sheets for each test they have reserved. If you have not done this see Mrs. Scaramucci in A117 after school to complete answer sheets. Also, it is required that you turn in the AP Student pack with the labels in it to Mrs. Scaramucci, if you did not turn it in to one of your AP teachers. They will be needed at each exam. Final AP reminder handouts are being distributed in AP classrooms either Thursday or Friday this week. See Mrs. Scaramucci if you have any questions or concerns about the AP exams, the site, or guidelines.
NO CELL PHONES, IPODS, UNAUTHORIZED CALCULATORS, OR OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES MAY BE USED AT THE AP EXAM SITE INCLUDING BREAK TIME! LEAVE THEM AT HOME OR IN YOUR VEHICLE!

Testing out is scheduled for Thursday, May 8 for World Languages and Tuesday, May 13 for all other areas.

Seniors who will be graduating in June and opt to try out for the senior graduation speech must submit a typed copy of their speech to Mrs. Kassem in C203 by May 16th. You may obtain a rubric for the writing and delivery of your speech any time before that date from Mrs. Kassem (C203). The tentative date for speech tryouts is Thursday, May 22nd. The Henry Ford Community College Foundation will offer 22, $1,000 Community scholarships to Fordson High School to students who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 and will be attending HFCC for the 2008-2009 academic school year. Students will receive $500.00 for the fall 2008 semester and $500 for the winter 2009 semester.

Congratulations to Senior Ali Saad who is one of the 100 recipients for the 2008 McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship Award. As a winner, Ali will receive $10,000 for 4 years at any public or private college or university in the United States. He will also be attending an e-Venture meeting in Illinois from June 29 – July 2, 2008, which will introduce scholars to various entrepreneurial skills, business awareness, and an opportunity to meet the other 100 winners.

The KC Relay for Life team meets after the Key Club meeting @ 2:50 in A117. Any student or staff member interested in joining this effort to fight cancer is welcome to attend. Relay work schedules, permission slips, and final committee assignments are on the agenda for this meeting. RMS

The Dearborn American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held on the grounds of the Performing Arts Center at Michigan and Greenfield on Saturday, May 3 at 10:00am until Sunday, May 4 at 10:00 am. During this time we honor the memory of those individuals from our families and community who have been affected by this horrific disease and raise awareness and funds to end it. Please plan to come out and support the Fordson Relay for Life Teams and help fight cancer. RMS

All AP exam students should fill out answer sheets for each test they have reserved. If you have not done this see Mrs. Scaramucci in A117 after school to complete answer sheets. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in G210 or at lunch from a member of the Shakespeare club. Tickets are selling fast — don’t miss this chance to celebrate spring!

SENIORS: Prom attendance is directly related to school attendance. For those students who are tardy, late, or skip classes you will find you have made a choice not to attend prom this year. You have two months to make sure your attendance is perfect.

Testing out is scheduled for Thursday, May 8 for World Languages and Tuesday, May 13 for all other areas.
Pick up application forms from the registration office. Application forms are due back to the registration office no later than Thursday May 1st 2008. No application forms will be accepted after that date. Sandra Assaf

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team for defeating Melvindale ABT 9-5 and 16-4 in a doubleheader on Thursday. The team is now 7-2. Junior Renee Garcia had 4 hits and 3 RBI in game #1 and sophomore Mariam Abdallah and junior Reem Awada each had 3 hits in game #2. Next home game is Monday, April 21st against Dearborn Heights Robichaud.

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team for defeating Pontiac AOE 18-3 on Wednesday. Sophomore Mariam Abdallah tripled and scored 3 runs and freshman Yazmin Hamid had a home run and 4 RBI to lead the offense. The team is now 5-2. Next home game is Monday, April 21st against Dearborn Heights Robichaud.

1st in Oratorical (Jihad Komis, who delivered his speech on open mindedness to the audience of 500 people),

and additional recognitions for UNICEF, Early Bird Dues, and Club Secretary.
