Seniors will have rehearsal this Thursday and Friday at 8 am in the auditorium. Seniors must be present to participate in the ceremony on Saturday.  Students will have to be here on Saturday NO LATER THAN 8:30 AM IN THE AUDITORIUM for last minute directions. 

 

 

SENIOR PROM PICUTRES can be picked up in F-202 (from Mr. Seymour) before school, after school, during any of the three lunches.  Must show picture ID to pickup your pictures.

Summer School will be held at Edsel Ford High School this year.  The program will run beginning June 22 through July 24, 2009.  The cost is $275 per class.  Registration will take place June 16 through June 19 at the Berry Career Center, 22586 Ann Arbor Trail, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Additional information on the program can be found on the district’s website, www.dearbornschools.org., or by calling 827-3024.

 

All Students:  The Quill, Fordson’s Literary Arts Magazine, will go on sale starting today. Purchase your copy for $5 from Mrs. Kassem in C203, the library, or from any member of the literary arts magazine. Mrs. Kassem

 

All Girls who want to try out for the Fordson Varsity Swim team in the Fall must attend the meeting Thursday (after school in the main gym). Practice starts on Monday, August 24th @ 2:00 p.m.  See me for The schedule & other information.  S.Wyka

Girls’ Tennis Players:  Please see Coach Wright, Rabac or Forster about the end of the season banquet and please turn in your money to Coach Forster in room A103 as soon as possible.  Also all varsity players need to turn in their uniforms ASAP.

 

BOYS SOCCER PLAYERS

If you are interested in playing Varsity or JV soccer next fall, please come to a short, informational meeting in the Cafeteria on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 2:30 pm.

There will be a special announcement for returning and potential Varsity players, so please be sure to attend.  Coach Gothro 

 

 

Testing Out will take place at Fordson on June 15th 2009.  See you counselor for an application.  Seating will begin 7:30 a.m.

 

Special programs in reading skills and speed reading for adults as a community service are offered this summer in Dearborn on campus at the University of Michigan. Classes are taught by professional instructors from the Institute of Reading Development.  Program 6 for entering 9th – 11th grade begins Sunday, June 14 through July 19 from 3:45 to 6:15 p.m.  Program 7 is for entering 12th graders, college students, and adults and starts Mon, June 15 through July 13 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.  Programs meet once each week.  Tuition and material fees vary be program level. For more information or to register call 1-800-978-9596.

Women in Science and Engineering program at U of Michigan-Dearborn is offering a summer program for students who will complete the 10th or 11th grade by June 2009.  A one-week non-residential day-time program for students who are interested in engineering, science, math or technology.  The program will be held on the Ann Arbor campus Monday,

June 22-26.  Please see Mrs. Alcodray if you’re interested.

Boys Track & Field State Meet results:

Fordson’s boys track team placed 22nd at the State Meet this past Saturday.

Yusuf Naser earned All-State Honors by placing 3rd in the High Jump, 6′ 5″

Brandan Hall earned All-State Honors by placing 4th in the 100 meters. 10.98 (fat)

Qais Alkirsh placed 18th in the 3200 meters 9:47

Abdullah Homayed placed 18th in the Shot Put and  14th in the Discus

All four of these athletes did a great job of representing Fordson High School.
