Have a safe and memorable Memorial Day–remember that FREEDOM is not free! Thank you to all the participants in Dearborn’s Parade on Monday–stay cool!
US History: A Classroom Divided HEATs up this week for sure as tests and work scores are tabulated. We will continue our study of the civil war and of the era of reconstruction as we count down the days of the school year. We completed the essentials together. We held a debate on a domestic policy issue–articles were summarized with graphic organizers. The chapter 17 review was assigned–due Thursday. (Some students are excused from this assignment.)
Eastern Hemisphere: Students are asked to complete the Chapter 30 Review (all parts including the writing activity). Students are excused from it, if they brought in the global policy articles, as assigned. We will review chapter 30 and test this week. On Thursday, we will draft the expository essays, using our discussion and our research. For homework this week, please have a plan for how you will publish your findings as part of our “capstone” project. We created graphic organizers to summarize our articles for our capstone project. Be sure you have a plan to “publish your project.” Projects will be drafted on Tuesday and published beginning Friday, June 1.
