Fun and exciting ways to review are vital to student learning. I remember the days of simply reading over study guides and immediately forgetting what I read. Today we played an interactive review game.
I broke the class up into 5 groups. Each group had a quizzer, a person intended to ask questions and keep score. After twenty minutes of the quizzer quizzing their groups, a winner from each groups was decided. The five winners then competed for the number one spot.
Congrats to the class champions!
1st hour: Mohammed S.
3rd hour: Emmerson and Courtney W.
4th hour: Samer D.

No homework this weekend! Enjoy.
We’ll miss you Mr. B. Thanks for everything!

Today we studied Vietnam, and the students were presented with power point slides that taught and demonstrated Ch. 27 Section 4.

Don’t forget, if you haven’t turned it in already, your LAW DAY ESSAY is due tomorrow!
Today our entire team held shortened classes; 25 minutes to be exact. We made this change because we had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to here the live testimony of an actual Holocaust survivor. She spoke with the team for about an hour about the trial and tribulations of being a Jew during Hitler’s occupation of European countries. It was truly amazing hearing her speak. The pain of family members dying, the elation of liberation, all emotions came through during her speech. Ask your children about it. They were all very respectful. I have never been more proud of them. A special thank you goes out to Leah W., who made this special assembly possible. Thanks Leah.
During our shortened Social Studies period we got our the white boards and dry erase markers and I asked them questions from their upcoming quiz tomorrow. They answered on the boards. This acted as a fun review session for them. Don’t forget to study AND if you didn’t already, turn in your LAW DAY ESSAY Thursday (with PARENT SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP)!

LAW DAY ESSAY due Thursday, April 10 (TOMORROW FOR EXTRA CREDIT).
Today in class we used our time to “peer edit” our essays. Each person had 3 people read their essay and give advice on how to improve it. Students will now use these suggestions to create their final copy. Final copies should be typed if at all possible!
WORLD RELIGIONS QUIZ on Wednesday, April 9!
