Happy Friday to all.  For those parents that were not here at drop off this morning, I asked all the parents to come in for an important announcement.  Yesterday after school Willem had a seizure while upstairs at Kids Club.  His parents were both here and he was taken by ambulance to Oakwood Hospital and later to Children’s Hospital.  This is his first seizure and all are worried and scared for and about him.   I went down to Children’s last night & took him a dog house happy napper from our class to keep him company, although he slept through my visit.  When I got to go back and see him and talk with Viki and Dave they had ruled out the possibility that this was a fever induced seizure.  I communicated with his mother Fri morning and she said he seemed back to feeling normal and that he was going for an EEG and hopefully being discharged later Fri afternoon or evening.  He will also have to get an MRI in the next few weeks.  I have attached (hopefully) a picture mom sent me Fri morning.  We made him cards in class and at computers that I will deliver to him.  Please keep his family in your thoughts as they go through this.

We discussed it in class with the students as well and we even have Mrs. Day, our school social worker, on call to come in  and talk to us if we need it.  I am sure the students will be talking about it and so I wanted to let everyone know as much as I know at this point, especially for those of you that were not here this morning for the announcement.
