Language Arts: We have begun adding words to our word wall. We call those words “Popcorn Words” because they keep popping up in the books we read and the stories we write. In our own writing, we are beginning to label the various items in our pictures.

Math: We are working on counting by 1s up to 20. We are also practicing our skip counting by 5s up to 30. You should have your child’s number formation booklet. Please continue to practice number formation at home.

Social Studies: We have been reading books and watching a couple of videos about the lives of the Pilgrims and the Indians. We made our Pilgrim hats and collars. We also read some Indian symbols and painted like the Abenaki indians would have done.

Gross Motor: We continue to go out to get our exercise each day. The winds are a bit more chilly now. Please make sure your child has a warm coat and, possibly, a hat and gloves. Once the snow begins to fall, snow pants and boots would also be recommended. I am very proud of the children and the manner in which they are able to get their own coats on and zipped, buttoned or snapped shut. Keep practicing those self-help skills at home!
