All children will be getting their pictures taken on Wednesday, April 29th.  You do not send any money at this time.  In a couple of weeks, your child will bring home a picture packet with 5 sheets of photos for you to look at.

If you do not want to purchase any of the pictures, you simply return the envelope with ALL the photo sheets to class.

If you would like to purchase some or all of the photo sheets, a price guide will be listed on the envelope.  You will write a check to “Lifetouch” and return it in the envelope, along with ANY UNPURCHASED photo sheets.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask or email.  At this time, I do not know what our picture times will be on Wednesday.  I will post our picture times on the dry erase board near the parent pockets once I know it.

Keep your fingers crossed that we’ll have a repeat of this past Friday’s weather!

AM children—all permission slips and money are due by Wednesday, April 29th.  Without all signed permission slips, your child will only be able to watch at the event.  We are also in need of snack items for the children during the event.  Please check the sign up sheet on the volunteer clipboard in the classroom.  Please see me with any questions or concerns.

PM children—are invited to attend with an adult chaperone.  Permission slips and money are due by Wednesday, April 29th.  Please also consider donating a snack item for the children to enjoy.

Fundraiser donations are to be turned in before May 5th.

The original schedule for Popcorn Day showed this Friday as the next one.  The PTA, however, has moved the popcorn sale to next Thursday.  Popcorn will be popped and bagged Thursday afternoon and distributed at the end of the day.  I will save all popcorn orders that I’ve received thus far for next week.

For AM children who are ordering, we will save the popcorn for distribution on Friday morning.

If you have any questions or, if you’d like your child’s popcorn money returned, please speak with me or email me.

You’ll find lots of information in your parent pocket regarding this year’s St. Jude Trike-A-Thon fundraiser.  It is being held on Friday, May 1st from 9:00-11:50.  We will need parent helpers and snack donations.  A sign up sheet is on the clipboard in the classroom.

PM children are also invited to attend with an adult chaperone.  We will also have our regular afternoon class that day.

As always, I’d be happy to answer any questions.

I tallied up the votes and both the AM and the PM classes will be putting together baskets with the theme of “SUMMER FUN”.  As suggested, that could include sunscreen, sunglasses, beach towels, snorkles, goggles, beach balls, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, balls, frisbees, hula hoops, gift cards for ice cream or other treats, flip flops, sun visors…the list could go on and on.

I will send this home in a note in the parent pockets as well.  If you’re reading this now and you know you’ll be out shopping soon, feel free to begin to pick up an item or two to contribute to the basket.  We could create two wonderful baskets if each family contributed at least one item.

If you have any questions, please speak with me or email me.

If you’re already thinking of how you’re going to keep your kids busy this summer, you may want to consider taking them bowling.  Oxford Lanes on Telegraph in Dearborn is part of the national “Kids Bowl Free” program. (There are several bowling alleys listed in Michigan but Oxford is the only one in Dearborn.) This FREE program gives your child(ren) two free games of bowling EACH DAY!  Once you register, you’ll receive your passes in a weekly email.  When you’re registering, you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase a family pass that will allow up to four adults (ages 15 and older) to bowl two games each day for only $23.95.  This purchase is optional and not a requirement for registering for the free bowling for your children.  You can visit www.kidsbowlfree.com to register or you can click on the link here.  (I’ve already signed my family up too!)

Happy Bowling! :)

Mrs. Zander from our Kids’ Club program is again organizing a Trike-A-Thon as a fundraiser for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  It is scheduled for Friday, May 1st from 9:00-11:30.  (Keep your fingers crossed for good weather again this year!)  PM children are welcome to attend with an adult. (PM children who are in Friendly Frogs in the morning will attend the event with their group.)

The theme this year is Hawaiian!  We will need parents to help supervise the children during the morning as we will be riding our bikes and having fun with lots of other activities such as visiting with the Michigan State Police motorcycle officers and jumping in the bouncie.  There will be a sign up sheet for snacks on that day as well.  You can check the volunteer clipboard in our classroom for those sign up sheets.

Mrs. Zander will be sending home a note with more information in the coming weeks.  Please be aware that any child riding a bike MUST also wear a helmet.  Even though this is a Trike-A-Thon, children who can ride a two-wheel bike without training wheels may bring those bikes.

Please email me or speak with me if you have any questions or concerns.
