What’s New November 28 – December 2

Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, 5:00 – 7:40 p.m. and Wednesday, November 30, 5:00 – 7:40 p.m.

Conference schedule is posted in the classroom.

Star of the Week – will be chosen on Friday, December 2.

Book It – Wow! November is almost over. Make sure you have your child turn in their pizza reading log for the month of November.

Daily Five – Students are continuing to build stamina during Read to Self and Read to Buddy.  So that your child continues to work on stamina, your child may bring in a favorite book from home to put in their book box at school.

Blue Folders – It is important students return their blue folders each day to school. The blue folders are a communication tool, so that parents know what is going on at school. Red folders are another communication tool so that parents know their child’s progress during the week.

Book Bags – Book Bag Reading Logs will be going home along with book bags. The book bags are to be returned the next day. Please have your child read their book(s) 3 times to a family member, or a stuffed animal or even a family pet. Reading familiar stories will help increase your child’s fluency.

Caring Community Project – On Tuesday, November 29 a Double Tree hotel representative will be visiting Nowlin to do a presentation on caring in our community. Students will learn about their community and how they can help others in the community.

Thank you for your support. Your child makes even more leaps and bounds with your help at home .

Happy Holidays!
