Monday your child will bring home a list of friends names for your child to sign Valentine cards for our Valentine Party on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. I will provide each student with a Valentine bag that they will decorate in class for the party. The party will be after lunch from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. We have 23 students in our class.
Miss Butkins’s class will also join us in the afternoon for the party. So, we will have 3 more guests at our party. So, we will have a total of 26 students at our party. During the school year Anthony, Nimer and Adam have joined our kindergarten class in the morning for calendar and the afternoon for math. The kindergarten class has worked very well with these boys and making them feel a part of our classroom as well.
It looks as if we will have been in school for 100 days as of Thursday, February 16, 2012. We will celebrate 100 days in school on Thursday and kindergartners will celebrate 100 days with activities in class. This week a 100 day math project activity will be sent home for your child to do at home in preparation for our 100 days in school celebration.
So, the week before our winter break will be busy in our classroom!
It has been a week since the report cards went out. Please feel free to talk to me if you have any questions, regarding your child’s report card. I am very pleased with the progress the class has made since the beginning of the year. As a class we continue to make leaps and bounds with reading and writing and it showed with the January district writing prompt and the January /DRA (Diagnostic Reading Assessments).
