Time: 6:00-8:00 PM
Where: Snow Elementary School
Cost: Assembly is free
$1.00/Ice Cream
Assembly will begin promptly at 6:00 PM.
Every child in attendance will receive a science gadget to kick-off summer fun.

Our Snow School Picnic Raffle basket theme is “Water Fun”. Please send in any donations to add to the basket. We want to create a great basket to raffle off at the school picnic on June 7th.

Please make sure your child continues to go to xtramath.org as often as possible at home. The more practice a child gets with basic math facts, the better he/she will be at more advanced problems.
The Snow School Ice Cream Social is scheduled for May 14th.
We are planning a field trip for the end of the year for 3rd graders. The permission slip and information will be coming home in the next few weeks. It will be a field trip to Ford Bowling Lanes and we will be looking for parent chaperones to drive. Keep the date open as more information will come home soon.

ABC Countdown starts May 6th
ABC Countdown
This year, Snow School will celebrate another great year of learning by counting down the last 26 days of the school year with 26 special activities!
Please read through the activities and their descriptions as some days have your child wearing certain clothing and/or bringing items to class. Participation is not required but we hope that everyone will join in this celebration in some way over the next couple of weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher. Thank you!
Date Activity Description
May 6 Animal Day Bring a small stuffed animal to class.
May 7 Beach Day Bring your flip-flops, sunglasses and beach towel.
(Remember that you need proper shoes for the playground and gym class.)
May 8 Create-a-Cookie Day You will get to decorate your own special cookie!
May 9 Doodling Day We’ll doodle and draw as a part of our classroom activities. Who doesn’t love fun artwork?!
May 10 Extra Recess Day We will have one extra recess today.
May 13 Flag Day Wear red, white and blue!
May 14 Game Day Bring a board game from home to teach others.
(NO electronic games, please.)
May 15 Hat Day Wear your favorite hat.
May 16 Ice Cream Day We’ll enjoy an ice cream treat!
May 17 Jam Day Pump up the jam! Bring your favorite CD so we can rock out to some music! (CD subject to teacher approval.)
May 20 Krispy Kreme Day We’ll devour a delicious donut!
May 21 Lollipop Day We’ll lick some lollipops today.
May 22 Math Day Let’s do projects and math games all day long!
May 23 Necktie Day Ties aren’t just for men! Borrow dad’s or grandpa’s tie to wear to school!
May 28 Opposite Day Dress up in clothes that are the opposite of each other (different colored shoes, mismatched items)
May 29 Picnic Day Bring a blanket to sit on while we eat lunch & snack outside.
May 30 Quiet Day No talking today. We’ll use our dry erase boards to write down what we want to say.
May 31 Read a Shirt Day Wear a shirt with writing. (No offensive or inappropriate language allowed)
June 3 Silly Sock/Shoe Day Wear your craziest socks and shoes!
June 4 Tie-dye Day Wear anything you have that’s tie-dyed.
June 5 Uniform Day Wear a uniform or jersey for your favorite team.
June 6 Video Day We’ll watch a video.
June 7 Wacky, Wild Hair Day Who will have the wildest hair-do today?!
June 10 X-change
Autographs Day Gather the signatures of your friends and teachers.
June 11 Year End Clean-up We’ll clean out our desks and the room. Be sure to bring an extra bag from home for your stuff.
June 12 Zoom Out of School! Have a wonderful summer vacation!

Thank you for all of the donations for Relay for Life. The class did an excellent job of donating money to a good cause.
It’s picnic raffle basket time! Every year each class puts together a basket to be raffled off at our end of the year Snow School Picnic. Our theme is Water Fun. We are looking for donations of anything related to having fun using water (water balloons, floaties, inner tubes, bubbles, ect..) Be creative and send in your donations. Let’s make our basket the best in the bunch!

Congratulations to Sophia for doing a wonderful job of singing a solo in the Snow School Talent Show.
We had a wonderful party to wish Mrs. McFarlin best of luck after her graduation with her teaching certificate! We will all miss her very much!
Spirit Week next week:
Monday – Sun Safety – wear sunglasses and/or a hat
Tuesday – Healthy Eating – bring a healthy snack and dress like a twin
Wednesday – Dental Health – wear your pajamas to school
Thursday – Emotional Health – the class will choose a theme to wear something together
Friday – Physical Health – wear your favorite sports team uniform or t-shirt
Please consider donating at least a dollar to participate in Spirit Week.
May 8th is a Blood Drive at Snow for adults 18 or older.

Congratulations to Nicholas for passing all his addition facts on xtramath! Everyone should continue to visit xtramath.org two to three times per week.
April’s PBIS party will have students invited to the 5th grade mall. In order to be invited, students may only change their card once during the month of April.
Families are encouraged to sign up to join Snow School’s team for Relay for Life on Saturday, April 27th. As stated in an earlier letter sent home, the school will be having a Spirit Week April 22-26 to raise money for Relay for Life.
3rd-5th grade classes will be walking to Edsel Ford on Tuesday, April 16th to watch the dress rehersal of the play “Babes in Arms”. There is no cost for the field trip. Please make sure all permission slips are turned in by Monday.
Wednesday, April 17th is a Late Start.
The Snow School Talent Show is this coming Wednesday, April 17th at 7:00 p.m.
