Hi it’s Charlize i know how to play hot cross buns but I get nevous and start to shake
Rebekah Ventura on 27 Mar 2010 at 7:00 pm #
Charlize,
I understand about the nervousness to play in front of other people. I used to get like that with piano recitals – my hands would shake, too.
Why don’t you come in before the class does and I’ll listen to you? As we play more, you will get more confident!

What happens if you get your red and brown belt and when you get your black belt song can you play your black belt song
Rebekah Ventura on 28 Apr 2010 at 6:40 pm #
Hi Charlize — you will play your songs in order: Twinkle (red), then Amazing Grace (brown), then Ode to Joy (black.) I’ll ask for the belts in order on Thursday – like I’ll ask for red first (since I heard the purple Wednesday) then brown, then black. There’s a little time at the end of the day Friday also, if we need it!

Thank you Mrs ventura

Hi Mrs.Ventura, I see what you mean by making the half notes loger and Amazing Grace sound way better. Also I heard the music of Old To Joy and the third line is pretty hard. And thank you to tell me to make my half notes longer in the song Amazing Grace.
Rebekah Ventura on 05 May 2010 at 7:54 pm #
Hi Allen!
You did a GREAT job today! I’m glad you care about learning the song with the correct rhythm and that have enough pride to play the piece well. That means you really earned your karate belt!
As for Ode to Joy, I think the most difficult thing about it is that it is so long, and the low C’s can be difficult to play.
Charlize on 06 May 2010 at 3:57 pm #
Hi I been know how to play ode to joy smooth
Rebekah Ventura on 06 May 2010 at 4:00 pm #
Great, Charlize. You’re going to love playing “Ode to Joy” after you practice it a bit more! It’s like giving a speech – you have to say the words so they flow and make sense, just like music needs to flow and make sense.
