Chris,

Thanks a lot for writing about us. The only way we can keep focusing on creating a great product and spend less on marketing is through happy users talking about Dimdim. So, thanks again.

I am just amazed with the great work you do for your district. Your district's website and available features are just amazing. I plan to share a great deal of it with the staff at CHS when we return in August. Keep up the good work and have a great summer!

The Online Course Template is made in moodle. I am willing to share. Basically inside moodle, I duplicate this template course over and over. Then when a teacher emails me, I add their information to the template and turn it over to them. They then only have to modify what's there and not create everything from scratch.

What have you done the template in? Are you willing to share? This sounds exactly like what my teachers are asking for?

Thanks!

I am choosing Mahara because it seems to be more in line with what we want to do and because it seems easier to navigate. We tried ELGG for about 3 months and decided it was too clunky and not as intuitive in it's navigation and moving around the site.

I am deciding between Mihara and ELGG. Is there a reason you went with Mihara? You are certainly a forward thinker and I would love to learn more about your plans for the future. I am looking at developing this technology with middle school students.

We use this script:

Really great feature. This is probably the best one out there. It is the most cross-browser compatible.

What is the name of the "mac-like" control that your site uses near the bottom of the page?

Good luck with your quest, finding/creating the perfect social learning tool is not a trivial undertaking.

We created one using the ELGG framework that appeals mostly to college students (and some high schoolers as well) so I can empathize with your passion and motivation.
